Work experience and your career development
Throughout your time at university you will have a range of workplace experiences, both within and outside your studies, which will impact upon your thinking about your career and the future you want to create for yourself.
To facilitate career decision making it is important for you to have structured opportunities to reflect upon these experiences to:
- Understand what they tell you about the type of person you are;
- The skill strengths you have or need to develop;
- What values you bring to the workplace;
- The opportunities available to you;
- What interests you have that will influence the type of job or industry you want to work in and they type of life you want to lead.
