Graduate Career Services
NAGCAS is the national network of Careers Services in tertiary education. This means our membership is predominately made up of Graduate Career practitioners working in these centres. They work with students, universities and industry to create the best possible outcomes for career development and employers.
Who are Graduate Career Practitioners ?
- Graduate Career Practitioners are a highly professional group of intelligent, dedicated people who make a real difference to student’s lives, the business community and the institutions in which they work.
- Graduate Career Practitioners deliver employability outcomes via strategies for greater learning and graduate skill development, and through active engagement with business, industry and community.
- They lead cutting edge education and training research and are advocates for internal and industry change.
What do Careers Services do?
Connect: Career services connect employers and graduates by working with employers, industry bodies and community organisations to promote graduate vacancies, internships and work integrated learning opportunities.
They may also connect students to employment and work integrated learning opportunities with an aim to support graduate outcomes for students in their field of study.
Prepare: Career Services prepare Graduates to be employable via assisting students to make career decisions, develop job search skills, identify employers and develop career-related skills and experience.
Inform: Career Services inform and develop the profession through carrying out research, providing resources, links and information to employers, students, their institutions and industry
